Ars Technica did publish an interesting article about their 1st hands-on test of parts the Ubuntu Netbook Remix Linux OS.
“The Remix is based on Ubuntu Mobile Edition & is designed specifically for mobile computers with a subnotebook form factor.”
The customized Ubuntu Mobile Edition (UME) Launcher which replaces the desktop & provides access to applications & other important system functionality. A series of application categories are displayed on the left side of the launcher and each category provides access to a set of application icons. The layout and design of the launcher look effective and according to the reviewer "it is very easy to use."
Ubuntu Netbook Remix is designed with the Atom processor in mind. Sounds like an interesting OS for the Eee PC 901 & the upcoming Eee PC 1001!
