If you are using the default installed Xandros Linux, or Windows XP it's quite easy to control several hardware features on your Eee PC. Eee-control makes it possible to use these features with other Linux distributions like Ubuntu, or Gentoo.
Eee-control is an easy-to-use utility that aims to be a one-stop solution for all special Linux Eee PC needs. It allows you to configure hardware & hotkeys, switch between performance levels (very much like Asus' Super Hybrid Engine) & more.
Currently the Eee PC models 701/701SD, 702, 900, 900A, 901 & 1000/1000H are supported.
