Chinese manufacturer HiVision managed to introduce a netbook for $98, with their Linux based NB0700.
The NB0700 Netbook features a 400MHz MIPS CPU, 64MB or 128MB RAM and an 1 GB SSD. Also an SDHC card reader & 3 USB ports are present. A custom version of Linux with a custom interface is present, with 5 tabs (Internet, Work, Play, Settings & Options), with big icons. Firefox is preinstalled along with an email app, Abi wordprocessor, a PDF file viewer & multimedia players.
