Intel will show its 1st SSD drives at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) next week.
Intel will introduce 3 different versions, all 3 models will offer read speeds of up to 240MB/s.
The 3 SSD models will be the X18-M, X25-E & X25-M. the X18 is a 1.8-inch disk & the X25 drives are 2.5-inch disks.
The X25-E has an average power usage of 2.4W in usage mode & 0.06W at idle mode while the other two models use 0.25W in usage mode & 0.25W of power at idle mode. So expect these disks to appear in a Netbook, like the Eee PC in the near future.
Sadly its not known yet, what capacity these drive will have, or how expensive they would be.
