Intel rival AMD is secretly preparing to compete with Intel on the netbook market with their latest Sempron 200U & 210U CPU's.
Intel is currently dominating the netbook market with its Atom & Celeron CPU's. Their biggest rival AMD didn't have an power-friendly/powerfull CPU yet.
There were already some rumors about the so-called Bobcat CPU, which would be launched by AMD as a netbook CPU, but untill now these were only rumors.
Now thanks to the motherboard/baseboard manufacturer iBase it seems AMD developped 2 new power-friendly Sempron CPU's; the 200U (1.0 GHz clockspeed) & the 210U (1.5 GHz clockspeed) iBase's IB885 baseboard will feature these CPU's.
According to iBase, the Sempron 200U & 210U CPU's include an integrated memory controller, 128KB of L1 cache, 256KB of L2 cache & an 800MHz HyperTransport link. The 200U has an 8-Watt TDP & supports 400MHz DDR2 memory, while the 1.5GHz 210U has a 15-Watt TDP & supports 800MHz DDR2 RAM.
